Ryenats were invited to join this meeting of the Hull Natural History Society and a few of our members joined for at least part of an all-day outing. We walked along various woodland rides down to the main lake where we had lunch, and then completed the circuit back round the top of the woods to the cars parked near Windy Gates.
The variety of habitats (wood, heath, lake, wetland and tracks surfaced with lime-rich roadstone) produced a most impressive plant list of 240 species which I think is a record for a single day, as well as many birds and some butterflies and dragonflies.
